Welcome to Beach Walk Reflections. I’m Frank in Cincinnati, Ohio USA. From Aug 2008-Feb 2020, I hosted an eclectic blog, A Frank Angle. After a break, I’ve decided to return to blogging, but differently.
The roots for Beach Walk Reflections dates back to A Frank Angle. My aim here is to share my thoughts hoping to stimulate your thoughts. I also hope that you will be an active participant here by following, reading, commenting, interacting with others, and by submitting your ideas for future walks.
My wife and I walk a lot during our winter as snowbirds in the south – something we’ve done since 2017. Our southern getaway can be cold, then again, no matter how cold the temperature gets on the beach, it is always warmer than home.
Topics for beach walks will be wide-ranging. The first 20+ will directly relate to the beach, but after that, topics will vary. I invite visitors to visit the Topics pages for a list of topics that are either published, currently in the queue, or a draft stage. I also have an offline list of ideas. I hope to link the published topics on the Topics page. There is also an email form for readers to submit ideas for future walks.
Each walk will conclude with a music video. The video will either be based on the walk’s theme or or it will fit based on its title, lyrics, images, or simply mood.
The current posting schedule is Tuesday, Thursdays, and Saturdays (all at 1:00 AM US Eastern).
I hope you enjoy the experience of Beach Walk Reflections.
Good to have you back.

What a lovely idea for a blog.
I took an enforced break from blogging but I’m back now, hopefully; I never thought of starting a new blog, though.
Good luck with this one!

Laughing,
Thanks for visiting my new blogging home. This one not only looks different from the previous one that I occupied for 11+ years, but will also have a different vibe and format. I hope you return for the first beach walk on Tuesday. Check during your morning. Regarding breaks, my saying is simple – Blogging breaks are good. Meanwhile, I think you go by Tilly, but I’m also thinking there is another name too – but I can’t remember it.

I’m actually Linda but began blogging as Tilly Bud for the anonymity – somewhat ironic, given my penchant for telling all and sundry my all and sundries.
I’ll check you out on Tuesday.

Sue,
Thank you for returning and your post. 🙂 The UK is officially on the board! A bit of a different look here, so it will take me time to adjust. Nonetheless, I’m looking forward to the new journey. Hoping some of your readers give this a chance.

Thank you for stopping by. Actually, with your comment, UK is the comment leader! Did you see about the new blog on my announcement or by Sue’s post?

It was through Sue’s post, Frank. I’d just opened the reader and Sue’s post was at the top of the list.
I couldn’t reply to your comment through the app for some reason, but I was able to click through to your site from my comment, and reply directly on your site. It must be a slight glitch on the app.
Anyhow, glitches aside, things are looking very picturesque over here. Very nice.

I feel quite strange, since yesterday night I published an old expert from one of my books https://claudinegiovannoni.com/2020/10/12/memories-memorie/ oh yeah, the sea and the beaches, in every one of my deams. Hugs :-)c

Claudine,
Glad you enjoyed my Enya selection. One thing for sure, I’ve taken the music selections for each walk very seriously – so thanks for validating my effort. 🙂 Also, thanks for the link that shows a serendipitous moment!

Aussies are such wonderful people, so thanks for telling me your location. Sue is such a kind person, so a friend of hers is a friend of mine. As I say, the good people of the world stick together! Thanks for the kind words. I hope you follow and return on Tuesday (well, probably your Tuesday afternoon) for the first official walk!

I love walking, Frank. I have two dogs so I have no excuses! No beach in sight though, now that I’ve relocated to Spokane, WA. I do love photography and host Sunday Stills weekly photo challenge. I feel like if everyone walked, our thoughts as we destress, could solve the world’s problems. 😁

Terri,
Welcome to my private grains of sand for a stroll. We love walking … the beach, the neighborhood, a nature preserve, a city – especially in Europe … so cheers to your joy for walking.
Definitely no beach in Spokane – but still a beautiful area. As one who loves photography, please consider collaborating here. See the Collaboration page for details. It’s fun and I’m easy. The current walk (Rain) is a collaboration. Another one this Tuesday.

Welcome first-time commenter to my sandy beach. “Peaceful” is one of my targets, so I invite you to look around at a variety of topics. We were fortunate to have 2 days in Lisbon, such a beautiful city – and we want to experience more of the country.

Nice to meet you Frank via Marsha’s site and her post about Leisure. I see how we have walking in common. For me walking is my happy place and also a time for great reflection. You brought Enya back into my radar. I used to listen to their music. This specific song you attached is beautiful. I have subscribed to your site and I am following you on Instagram. I look forward to reading more. Erica

Erica,
Welcome to the sands of my personal beach. Thanks for letting me know you came form Marsha’s. She’s a good lady! I was getting ready to give you a link to the first beach walk that helps set the stage for the walks, but then I realized I included that link in my comment at Marsha’s/
Cheers to your love for walking and using the time for reflection. We definitely have that in common. 🙂 Each of my walks here focus on a different topic, and they are meant to be relaxing and stimulating thought.
I see you are in BC. FYI: The photos in my current walk (Stones) are from the Pacific Northwest. 🙂 I invite you to look around! There’s more Enya in there somewhere.

Your photos are beautiful, Frank. We love beaches. We’re grateful to live within 30 to 40 minutes of drive to beaches in southern CA. My husband loves going to Maui just enjoy the walk on the beach in the morning and the evening. We’ve been there many times. I have no comparison because I haven’t been to the other islands.

Very good concept to start a new blog, Frank, never give it a thought myself , I just make chances and add sometime a new category to interact with other bloggers. Great blog which I shall visit more often.

Francina,
Thank you. Another blog was my home for 11+ years. When I closed it, I this place was in my mind … but I took my time deciding what I wanted to do here and the look that I wanted – so I opened in this past October. I’ve enjoyed it. For me readers, I want it to be a peaceful, reflective place that stimulates thinking. I invite you to return.

It’s nice to learn a little about you and the origin of the beach walks, Frank. I laughed at “it might be cold, but it’s warmer than home” (paraphrased). That’s how I feel when traveling south in the winter. And a beautiful song from Enya. I think we enjoy the same kind of music, so I look forward, not only to your reflections, but the music it inspires. Have a lovely walk.

Diana,
You made me laugh. I use the line about the weather relates to home because it is so true. Yep – what’s the point of reference? If a person wants fun and sun, they have to go to central and south Florida. If they want warmer than home, the northern Gulf coast & South Carolina are in play. In terms of music, I like a wide variety. With the posts here, I want the music to match the tone of the walk – calm. Sometimes it may fit the theme, other times not. Looking forward to seeing you on more walks. Right now I’m generally posting twice a week: Wednesdays and Saturdays. The “next walk” is always posted at the end.

Charly,
Enya is the most-used artist here. Simply put – her sound fits – and many images too. The first walk tells about the walks – and Enya isn’t featured. 😉 https://beachwalkreflections.wordpress.com/2020/10/20/1-introducing/
